About the Department

The four years’ professional undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication Engineering is application of electronics knowledge to improve communication and address engineering issues is the focus of electronics and communication engineering. Students can gain a solid foundation in a variety of areas related to electronics and communication engineering, including Digital systems design, electromagnetic theory, digital signal processing, microprocessors and microcontrollers, electronic circuits, VLSI design, digital and analog communication, control engineering, and microwave engineering. The course offers opportunities to improve student learning, perspectives, and experiences in order to help students specialize in “Electronics and Communication Engineering.” To enhance understanding in engineering and technology, hands-on experiences, projects, and high-tech labs are used in addition to classroom instruction.

Objectives

The objective of the Electronics & Communication Engineering Program is to produce graduates able to:

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to identify formulae, and solve electronic engineering problems.
Use industry standard tools to analyse, design, develop and test electronic based systems.
Achieve success in graduate programs in electronic engineering or a related field.

Welcome Message

It’s Technological advancement that has shrunk the world and it is no wonder that at the click of the mouse, one could get the glimpse of their near and dear ones’ miles away in their drawing rooms. Electronics and Communication Engineering has undergone a host of admirable changes. Interactive sessions, conduct of seminars, workshops etc. are the added academic exercises dwelt upon by the Department, in the making of an engineer beyond compare.

On behalf of my colleagues, I am delighted to welcome you to the Departmental website of Electronics and Communication Engineering. This website is intended to serve several different constituencies of the Department which include our current students, faculty and Course contents.

The objectives for the establishment of the Department are in line with the vision of MEC to become an exemplary institute of nationally acknowledged stature and excellence in teaching, research and scholarship. Furthermore, our academic program and learning environment have been designed to contribute to the quality and intellectual development of the students. We are actively engaged in an exciting and forward looking program of teaching and research.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was first started in 1998 with aims to provide our state and our nation, quality graduates whom will contribute to the development of the country in meeting the Vision of MEC. To achieve the vision and goals of the department, it is necessary that all concerned would need to work together and invest in mental and physical energies to uphold the name of the department. The intake of students and number of faculty members in the Department has been steadily increasing. The faculty members are not only providing high quality education to the students, but also are immersed in cutting-edge research which covers almost all disciplinary areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering takes a great Smugness in turning out successful areas who can tender their best service with boundless competence and utilizing energy. In order to equip our students with the most current in this ephemeral technological field we have set up a state-of-the-art laboratory, which is upgraded periodically. The mission of the Department is to provide Futuristic Technical Education to all our students and instill in them a sense of leadership, entrepreneurship and research to dedicate their lives and services for the betterment of their families and the nation.

The faculty members and students are regularly engaged in presenting and publishing papers in National and International Journals and Conferences. Research works are being carried out in Wireless technology in Network Simulator. The Department regularly applies and receives fund from AICTE, CSIR for projects and seminars. During the year 2012, AICTE Sponsored for various seminar topics like Wireless technology, DIP, VLSI. Guest lectures and industrial visits are arranged regularly to students for up-gradation of knowledge on latest technologies available in the market on the thrust areas like VLSI Design, Wireless Mobile Communication, Digital Image Processing, etc. The students are encouraged for all round excellence in all extracurricular activities.

The PG Program was started in the year 2009 with team of highly qualified, dedicated and Enthusiastic faculty members as well as with well equipped laboratories. This Programme is having technology and business in a state of flux, speed of thought and competitiveness are the criteria, which separates the best from the rest. In order to equip our students with the most current trends and techniques in this ephemeral technological field we have set up a state-of-the-art laboratory, which is upgraded periodically. We have also added latest topics like Digital Image Processing and Embedded Technology to keep students aware of the recent changes.

Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

The objective of the laboratory is to enable the students to simulate and experiment with digital signals and systems and apply the theory they have studied in DSP courses. Students can implement digital signal processing algorithms using different computational platforms and DSP tools. They can critically analyze the behavior of their implementation and observe the specific limitations inherent to the computational platform and tools.

Electronic devices and circuits lab also included in this lab. This lab familiarizes the students with the fundamentals of analog electronics.
