Duration of MCA Program – 2 Years

Our Department of Computer Applications was established in 2000 and has been functioning successfully with an annual intake of 60 students. Since its commencement, the primary aim has been to prepare the students for new challenges in Information Technology. Our department strives towards excellence in the field of computer applications. The Department has well-qualified and experienced faculty members with state-of-the-art computer labs. Our department has committed and dedicated through our teaching and good learning environment for student enhancement.

ELIGIBILITY

“Passed BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree or passed B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Mathematics at l0+2 Level or Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University). We obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

Mission

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO 1:

An ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems

PSO 2:

An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document

PSO 3:

Students should be able to demonstrate mastery over the area as per the program’s specialisation. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor’s program.

PSO 4:

Able to select suitable data models, appropriate architecture, and platform to implement a system with good performance.

PSO 5:

Able to design and integrate various system-based components to provide user-interactive solutions for multiple challenges.

PSO 6:

Able to develop applications for real-time environments using existing and upcoming technologies.

Our Department of Computer Applications was started in 2000 and has been functioning successfully with an annual intake of 60 students. Our department strives towards excellence in the field of computer applications. The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty members with a state-of-the-art computer lab. Our Department has committed and dedicated through our teaching and good learning environment for the student enhancement. The department regularly organises various seminars, conferences, workshops, etc., with funding from multiple agencies to benefit faculties and students in computer applications. The department promotes research and development activities and provides value-added courses towards excellence in this field. Renowned companies like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, CTS, L&T, etc., have recruited students. The department has a student association (MCASA) to encourage and motivate students to conduct MCA College in Tamil Nadu.

Seminar:

One-Day Seminar on “PROFESSIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR ENTREPRENEUR”

The Department of Master of Computer Applications is organising a Silver Jubilee Celebration Event to conduct a one-day seminar entitled “PROFESSIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR ENTREPRENEUR” for the students of the MCA Department. The resource person for the Seminar is Dr. G. Seenuvasan, MCA, M.Phil., Master Trainer-EDII-TN. on 02.12.2023.

Students Activities

Six students from MCA participated, P.R. Arun, D.Dhanusu, A. Dhivagaran, M. Rajkumar, S. Sathish and P. Vijakumar from MCA won winner in the Volleyball competition in Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam on 12th May 2023.
National Level Technical Symposium – Colloq’23 (intercollegiate symposium) organised by the Department of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence of E. S. Arts and Science College (Co-Ed), Villupuram.
One Day National Level Seminar on “Recent Trends in Computer Science”, held in Sacred Heart Arts and Science College, Perani, on 29th of March, 2023
Our students won 1st prize in Photo Exhibition Competition
Our Students got the overall championship for A level symposium conducted by Theivannai Ammal College, Villupuram
Students from MCA participated and won prizes in the Event Technical Contest – “Quiz” Competition, held at Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on 19th August 2022.
Students from the Department of MCA celebrated the Pongal Celebration, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on January 12, 2023.
Five students from MCA participated; K. LATHA from I MCA won 2nd prize in One Day National Level Seminar on “Recent Trends in Computer Science”, held in Sacred Heart Arts and Science College, Perani, on 29th of March, 2023
Nine students from I MCA participated; AJEETHA.V from I MCA won 2nd prize in the painting competition conducted by “Yuva Tourism Club,” held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on March 31st, 2023.
Four students from I MCA participated in the National Level Technical Symposium CODEFEST ’23 on “Technical and Non-Technical Event”, held at Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology on 29 April 2023.
Two students from I MCA participated, k.RISHI from I MCA won 3rd prize in the English Speech competition conducted by “English Literary Club”, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, from 02nd to 03rd of May 2023.
Six students from MCA participated. A. Charumathi, S. Sumithra, M. Sneha, E. Kumuthavalli, M. Lakshmi, and P. Vidali from I MCA won 1st prize in the Kho-Kho competition on Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on 04th May 2023.
Three students from I MCA participated, A.Charumathi, S.Sumithra, and M.Sneha from I MCA won 1st prize in the 4 × 400 meters Relay competition on Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam on 05th May 2023.
Three students from I MCA participated. A.Charumathi, S.Sumithra, and A.Ramya from I MCA won 1st prize in the 4 × 100 meters Relay competition on Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on 11th May 2023.
Two students from I MCA participated. P.Vishali from I MCA won 1st prize in the Long Jump competition on Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on 10th May 2023.
Two students from I MCA participated; V. Sneka from I MCA won 3rd prize in the Shortput competition on Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on 10th May 2023.
Two students from I MCA participated, A.Aparna P.Vishali from I MCA Runner, in the Badminton competition on Annual Sports Day 2023, held in Mailam Engineering College, Mailam, on 10th May 2023.
